The Rotary Club of Ashburn, VA is pleased to welcome this week's guest speaker, Leslie Pereira, Communications and Outreach Manager with Capital Rail Constructors, a joint venture of Clark and Kiewit.

Leslie Pereira (pah-rare-rah) is the Communications and Outreach Manager for the Rail Project's Phase 2 Design-Build Contractor -- Capital Rail Constructors.

Leslie has worked in and around Dulles Airport for more than 35 years, beginning in 1979 when she moved to the Northern Virginia area and went to work in the Public Relations office of British Aerospace, Inc. in Herndon, VA.  British Aerospace was very involved in the Dulles Corridor’s business community's effort to attract new business to Dulles and was one of the founders of the Washington Airports Task Force.

In 1988 Leslie took the position of Vice President of Business Development for Washington Airports Task Force and assisted in their effort to bring new business to the airport.

From there she joined Parsons Management Consultants, as the public information manager for the Dulles and National Airports Capital Construction Program.

Many years, and two children later, she was hired by Bechtel to work on the first phase of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project and then transitioned to Capital Rail Constructors as their Communications and Outreach Manager.

Leslie continues to stay close to Dulles while working closely with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority’s Rail Office Communications Manager, Marcia McAllister, to bring the Silver Line to completion.
