The Rotary Club of Ashburn, Virginia is pleased to welcome Krista Koons Woods, winner of the “Next Big Thing” competition on NBC’s Today Show, as our guest speaker this week

Krista Woods was born and raised in Northern Virginia and for the last 20 years along with her husband Chris has been raising her 3 children, ages 23, 18 and 15 in Loudoun County.  She has been self-employed for the last 12 years running her own sales training and team building consulting firm and recently added award winning inventor to her resume.

Krista invented GloveStix, an odor management solution for stinky athletic gear. With absolutely no experience in manufacturing, product development or e-commerce sales, just pure drive to solve a problem, in 1 year she took a product from idea to development, production and distribution. She recently won an entrepreneur contest on NBC’S TODAY Show called The Next Big Thing. Woods was selected by a panel of judges as the overall winner, enabling her to appear on QVC's "Saturday Morning Q®" broadcast to sell her product live on-air. She sold out…in 8 minutes!
Krista has been the subject of several Newspaper articles, including Fortune Magazine, The Washington Post and most recently was the subject of an article written in the Washington Business Journal titled “The Power 100, Washington D.C.’s Top 100 Influencers and News Makers of 2016”. She insists that her greatest accomplishments are a result of her ability to forge relationships with all types of personalities. She is adamant, you get out of your business and relationships what you’re willing to invest in them but it’s the relationships you build along the way that make the difference!
